    Yes. The conversion is fixed at 1 mcg = 40 IU, so 1000 IU is 25 mcg.

    Yes. Most D3 comes from lanolin, but algae-derived D3 exists and is labelled as suitable for vegans. Vitamin D2 from UV-exposed yeast or fungi is also plant-sourced.

    Organic salts such as citrate and glycinate are generally better absorbed than oxide, but absorption is only one factor alongside dose, format and personal tolerance.

  • Why is 500 mg of magnesium citrate not 500 mg of magnesium?

    The 500 mg is the whole compound. The citrate part accounts for most of that weight, so the elemental magnesium is far lower — the label should state it.
