What Is Ashwagandha?
Ashwagandha is a coveted herb in Ayurveda, a system of traditional, natural healing with origins in India. The root is the most beneficial part of this small shrub and is well known for having adaptogenic properties.
What Are Adaptogens?
Adaptogens are nutrients that can help balance the body’s natural response to stress and fatigue. They have been used for centuries in both Chinese and Ayurvedic healing traditions to help the body respond to all kinds of physical, chemical or biological mind and mood irritants. Essentially, these non-toxic plants are meant to bring us back to a calmer middle-ground.
Look at any Instagram influencer’s feed and you’ll likely find some kind of tonic or smoothie with a handful of these herbs mixed in.
