Non-dairy milk has taken the world by storm as more and more people adopt diets that don’t heavily rely on animal products. Among the seemingly endless options (almond, soy, coconut, rice, cashew, etc.) is oat milk, which has been around for a few years but didn’t rise to stardom internationally until recently.
What Is Oat Milk?
Oat milk consists of just two ingredients: oats and water. To add a touch of sweetness, many people add a few extra ingredients like honey or maple syrup as well as vanilla or almond extract.
Make Your Own!
What’s great about this new craze is that you can easily make oat milk from the comfort of your own home. An even bigger bonus; it will probably save you a lot of money to do it yourself! Making oat milk is so simple you’ll be wondering why you haven’t been doing it all along.
Servings: 4 cups
Ingredients:
1 cup rolled oats
4 cups water
¼ tsp. salt
2 tbsp. raw honey
½ tsp. almond extract
Directions:
- Blend all the ingredients until well blended. About a minute.
- Strain through a nut milk bag or by placing cheesecloth over a strainer.
- Store the milk in the fridge where it will stay fresh for up to 5 days. Shake well before use.
Iced Oat Milk Latte
Now that you’ve whipped up a fresh batch of your own oat milk, you can add it to your favorite cup of coffee! Because oat milk has a thicker, creamier texture than other non-dairy milks, it is easy to craft the perfect iced latte.

Ingredients:
Oat milk (however much you desire)
2 (2oz.) shots of strongly brewed BareOrganics Energizing Coffee with Superfoods
