Aromatherapy
Using some essential oils or your favourite pleasant-smelling aromas can help you get in the zone for your meditative session. Just make sure they aren’t too strong, which could make you lose focus. If essential oils aren’t your thing, lighting your favourite scented candle is also a great option.
Meditation Apps & Podcasts
If you’re just starting your meditation journey, or have been at it a while but feel like you haven’t been achieving your highest potential on your own, there’s nothing wrong without pursuing a little digital guidance. Normally, technology and meditation do not mix but nowadays there are a ton of apps and podcasts for healthy, guided meditation.
An Open Mind
This is a tool that needs to come from within, and is one of the most valuable! In order for meditation to be effective, you need to be open to the experience and willing to engage in the process. A skeptical approach will only hinder you and lead to an unsatisfying session. It’s possible that this practice may not be for you, but the only way to know for sure is to pursue it with an open mind.
