    Our Favourite Easy, Healthy Maca Recipes

    Chances are, you probably know a thing or two about maca.

    Maca is not only one of the world’s most cultivated superfoods but it is a dynamic adaptogen that helps the body deal with stress. These adaptogen qualities also support energy levels, concentration, endurance, sexual health and much more.

    Because maca is so beneficial, we love to cook with it at BIOVEA. Here are some of our favourite maca powder recipes:

    Maca MilkWarm Maca Milk
    Serves one

    Ingredients:

    1 teaspoon maca powder

    1 – 2 tablespoons coconut palm sugar

    1 ½ cups almond or cashew milk

    Directions:

    Mix all ingredients until smooth. Pour mixture into a saucepan over low heat until frothy and warm. Enjoy!

     

     

     

    Maca_SmoothieMaca Banana Smoothie
    Serves 1

    Ingredients:

    1 ½ cups almond, coconut or cashew milk
    1 tablespoon maca powder
    1 frozen banana
    1 tablespoon Manuka honey
    2 – 4 ice cubes as needed

    Directions:

    Add all ingredients into a blender. Blend until smooth. Enjoy!

     

     

     

    Maca_PancakesPaleo Maca Pancakes
    Serves 2

    Ingredients:

    2 eggs
    1 ½ ripe bananas
    1 tablespoon maca root powder
    1 tablespoon lucuma powder
    1 – 2 tablespoons organic coconut oil

    Directions:

    Blend eggs, bananas and maca powder in a blender or food processor until smooth. Place a large pan over medium heat. Add 1 tablespoon of coconut oil to the pan. Once the coconut oil is covering the entire pan, add the desired amount of batter for each pancake. Cook each side of the Paleo maca pancake for about 2 minutes. Add more coconut oil as needed. Top with fresh fruit or Manuka honey. Enjoy!

     

    Maca_Energy_BallsMaca & Peanut Butter Energy Bites
    Serves up to 6. May be stored in the refrigerator.

    Ingredients:

    1 cup uncooked quick oats
    1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
    2 tablespoons maca root powder
    1 tablespoon flax seeds
    Dash of salt
    1/2 cup natural peanut butter
    1/3 cup Manuka honey
    1/2 cup cacao powder

    Directions:
    Mix all dry ingredients together. Add peanut butter and honey. Stir until all ingredients are mixed well. Roll into small balls. Cover or roll the balls in cacao powder. Enjoy!
